Obviously, if you?re reading this then your a fan of the wonder world wide web. Over the past few years the use of the internet has largely increased. While we?re surfing the web and using tools to access media our bandwidth is quickly jumping through leaps and bounds. Now it seems that some cable providers are looking to try a new approach in the way we pay for our internet access.
Those of you who have a smartphone knows exactly the woes of having a cap limit in surfing the web. Some cable providers are actually looking to head in that direction. Since most media and entertainment are now coming out in the form of internet and streaming, these heavy users who access these sorts of content could be paying a bit more out of pocket.
Currently, this is just a test for a new business model but it can be a bit scary to those who enjoy browsing the web a bit more than the rest. Heavy hitters could be average usage to most, accessing the web to stream media content like videos and music, using Skype to chat with friends or picking up on a online video game. Right now the U.S. Stands in 12th place for overall internet usage and this could allow cable providers to try and nickle and dime a bit more from its customers in return for the same amount of internet speed.
