David?s expertise and commentary on the importance of physical therapy and musculoskeletal health for endurance athletes is featured in the NBC Universal Sports three part video series ?Inside Endurance?.? David is also the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach and Physical Therapist for the Nike Oregon Project.? The Nike Oregon Project is an elite team comprised of top distance runners from around the globe.? At the Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore., David looked on as four of his Nike Oregon Project Runners won spots on the 2012 USA Olympic Team, Mo Farah, Matt Centrowitz, Galen Rupp and Dathan Ritzenhein.? David will be traveling with Mo, Matt, Galen and Dathan to London this summer as they prepare for and compete in the 2012 Olympic Games.? During ?Inside Endurance: Episode One: Prime?, viewers watch as Olympic Hopefuls marathon runner Shalane Flanagan, long distance runner and Nike Oregon Project Dathan Ritzenhein and triathlete Sarah Groff endure a demanding schedule of rigorous training with the ultimate goal of the London Games set in their sights.? Interviews from family members and coaches (including David) further iterate the incredible journey for these elite athletes.? After viewing ?Prime? through the link on the P.A.C.E blog, readers then get a glance of the next chapter for Dathan Ritzenhein as David recounts the 10,000m race at the Olympic Trials.? The stakes were especially high for Dathan who needed to finish in the top three and receive a time that would qualify him for the Olympic team.? With years of hard work, and the help of David?s coaching, he was able to achieve his goal of earning a spot on the USA Olympic Team.

When they?re not competing in the Olympic Games, Mo, Matt, Dathan and Galen live and train in Portland near Nike?s headquarters along with the other Nike Oregon Project Runners.? As Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, David is deeply involved with the team and preforms comprehensive musculoskeletal evaluations, oversees one-on-one strength and conditioning sessions, and ensures athletes are physically prepared to achieve optimal performance.? He has been working with Nike Oregon Project athletes since 2004 and recently accepted an expanded role which includes developing an injury prevention program to ensure musculoskeletal imbalances are addressed quickly before the risks of damage increase.? In addition to the Oregon Project athletes, David also provides ongoing physical therapy for several other athletes that will be competing in the London games.?
